The Roommate: Community Colleges' best friend

I must say that while exiting the theater after watching this movie I considered attending LCCC and living at home (that thought only lasted a few moments though). This disturbing movie is exactly what community colleges needed, a reason for future students to be afraid of dorm rooms. Finding a roommate is something that every high school senior stresses about and The Roommate didn't help at all.
A freshman college student, Rebecca (played by Leighton Meester), meets her roommate, Sara (Minka Kelly), and like any two girls they begin to bond through fashion and gossip. As the girls get closer, Rebecca starts showing her true colors through a combination of piercing her own ears (and eating her blood), ripping out another girl's belly button ring, and seducing a teacher. Sara meets boyfriend, Stephen, and Rebecca beings to get jealous. She pushes everyone away from Sara so she can have her for herself. The final straw was reached when Rebecca got the exact tattoo that Sara has (her dead sister's name). Sara runs away only to find her best friend tied to her bed a few days later. Rebecca appears within seconds holding a gun and threatening to kill. Like all scary movies, with some wrestling and heart stopping events, Rebecca is killed and all is relieved. The final scene shows Sara in a new dorm removing what would be her roommate's bed from the room. Though this movie was scary in the moment, I left the theater without fear. The movie was nothing special and nothing unexpected. This would be a good one to save some money on. I suggest renting it for $1 instead of paying the $10.50 at Crocker Park.
